Traffic Shaping from VPN

I've got several local servers doing backup work from clients over the meraki vpn. When seeding data recently it pegged out my inbound data pipe. The solution here would be limiting bandwidth on those particular IP's on my HUB MX (this is where the servers getting the inbound traffic live) to something acceptable. I learned that you can't apply rules to existing streams but my question is do I use "localhost:10.0.0.1" since they are internal? They are not on the same subnet so that's where I'm getting lost. Thanks!

Comes here often

I would recommend shaping at the remote side unless your connection is slower on the hub side. Just enter the IP address of the server on the remote side mx. It will show "net 10.0.0.1". That will shape traffic to/from 10.0.0.1 to what you want.
