Stretch Single Internet Service Across Dual MX Units
Hi,
Is it possible to stretch a single internet service using a /30 across a dual MX configuration using a layer 2 switch? Like the attached diagram.
Our service providers are generally unwilling to provide a /29 range or a dual-hand off, but we want to be able to have this connection to both MX devices at a site as a warm spare. We've had some partners at a high-level comment that it's possible but haven't actually seen it work and would expect we need to use a layer 3 switch in between.

@_Mark_ in a word, no. You would either need a router and NAT the 1 IP to an internal 2-3 IPs or get a /29. Each MX needs a public IP in the same subnet on the WAN port and ideally a third floating one (virtual IP) that the traffic actually uses.

Thanks, that is the solution we were coming too. Great to have confirmation.
