SD-WAN Throughput and Capabilities issues

have tested the internet speed in the Dubai head office.

  1. Speed test from Uplink direct connection from Meraki to laptop (Speed 91.48 MBPS)

  2. Speed test from ISP Modem to laptop using a dial-up connection (574 MBPS )

Throughput and Capabilities

DescriptionMX64 / MX64WMX65 /MX65W
Recommended Maximum LAN Clients5050
Max Stateful Firewall Throughput in NAT mode250 Mbps250 Mbps
Max VPN Throughput70 Mbps70 Mbps

Max Concurrent VPN Tunnels (Site-to-Site or Client VPN)

5050

NOTE: The actual internet speed as per our ISP plan is 750 MBPS, I think we are losing bandwidth somewhere in Meraki or our MX has limitations.

Are you using the MX security features? Note that the maximum capacity of the models is 250 Mbps, and is reduced if you are using the security features.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Another thing you should check is that there is no QoS setting enabled. But in any case, the maximum capacity of the MX 64 and 65 will be 200 Mbps with the security features enabled.

Consider upgrading from the MX to a larger model.
