Public IP on MS Switch

daigram.pngHi

We are using MS switch as wan switch to segregate isp 1 and 2. As we know meraki devices needs to be connected to meraki cloud to get live and pass any traffic. PFA diagram and let us know, do we need to assign public ip to wan switch to get meraki mx connected to internet. Also if i assign temporary public ip to Ms wan switch and later remove it post Mx connected to internet ?

Please refer to these slides, I believe slide 7 onwards describes your scenario.

As per slides it says Ms should get ip from dhcp enable MX Fw. Can i use static ip for Ms Wan switch and connects its management for any management switch ? Would i get internet for MX and MS here ?

The MS doesn't have a WAN port, but rather a management VLAN. You can use a DHCP or static IP address; it doesn't make a difference as long as it can communicate with the Meraki Cloud.

Just follow what's in the slides you received and everything will be fine.

I think there's nothing better than a practical test for you to validate the difficulties yourself.
You have a plan, now you just need to execute it.
