Meraki Cloud license renewal
Sorry if I asked this before. My current MX68 license is set to expire on January 25, 2020. My Meraki vendor is a company called insight.com. I purchased a 3 year license from them yesterda, but I didn't get a license key. I have a order number.
Do I need to do anything on the Meraki dashboard to renew the license or would it automatically renew for 3 more years on January 25? They (insight.com) said I don't need to do anything else, but I just called Mearki support and they said I need a license key, and I need to select "add another license", and apply the new license.
This is my first time renewing a license on Meraki.
Solved! Go to solution.

Yes. Depending on how they order it's either sent to you or them. Either way, you'll need to apply the license in the dashboard. That's not automatic.

Please see this guide: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Licensing/Meraki_Licensing_-_License_More_D...
You can find most information here: https://documentation.meraki.com/
You will need to add it as per the support answer. 🙂
Cheers,
Johnny

Unless Insight is managing your network, you'll have to apply the bought license yourself. You'd have to make sure you renew rather than increase the maximum devices amount.

Insight is not managing the network, we bought the Mearki from them, they're a Cisco / Meraki vendor. So I need to get a license key from them.

Indeed.
Edit: It'll probably be delivered in an e-mail. Either to you directly, or to them, depending on how they ordered it.

This is the response I got from Insight.com.
"The license key is sent to you by Meraki once they process the order. I’ve asked them to expedite this process"

@tantony below copied from Meraki documentation: so you can easily see what you need to do with the key.
- Orders can be claimed from the Organization Inventory section in the dashboard, via Order Number.
- If an order contains only a license key and no serial numbers, the license key must be claimed via Organization > Configure > License Info > Add another license.
