Meaning of three blinks WAN LED

Hello.

I want to know what is the meaning of three blink of WAN LED.

I explain the situation:

We have two MX 105, in warm and spare. With SFP Non-Meraki. The last Saturday we replaced both for Meraki SFP.

When we swap in the primary MX, the port instantly recover link (WAN LED in solid green). Only three pings (ICMP replys) has lost.

But when we swap in the secondary, the port didn't recover, we lost all the ICMP replys-pings. The WAN 1 port LED blinked green three times and then turned off, and after a while it blinked green three times and then turned off again, and so on all the time.

After a port reset by the switch side, the port recover link.

The port in the switch side didn't stay in err-disabled. They only saw flaps in their logs.

This behaviour doens't match with the expectate:

Do you know the meaning?

Regards.

Kind of a big deal

Is not explicitly documented in Meraki's official LED status guides. This typically suggests that the port is attempting to establish a link but is failing to negotiate properly.

This could be due to SFP module compatibility issues, link negotiation issues (e.g. speed/duplex compatibility), or even no carrier signal detected.

Have you tried replacing the SFP?

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

After a port reset on the switch side, the port recovers the link. So the LED remains solid green.

You initially mentioned it being the WAN interface yet reference the switch side.  Do you happen to have a switch between the ISP and MX?

The MX is in Passthrough or VPN Concentrator mode. There is only one link to WAN and LAN.
I like your idea force the negotation. I will to try it when I can.

Was it working with the non Meraki SFP transceivers?

Yes, but it also works with the Meraki. After reconnecting the link is established.

I'm not agree with you. Can you share the documentation that trust your message?

The WAN port LED is different to Internet connection. The internet connection status is reflected to Power led.
