MX68CW showing Cellular connecting and MonitorState: Disconnected

Hello

I'm giving support to one of my customers. He has an MX68CW but he doesn't want to use the integrated cellular gateway.

Thus, there's no any sim card inserted to the device. But, it's showing all the time "connecting" at the cellular information part. Additionally, it creates a warning log named "MonitorState: Disconnected" .

How can I get to disable that warning? Thanks

I would guess something between 18.107.8 and 18.207 😀

We’ve seen this on some older firmwares, but according to @RaphaelL this seems to go away on MX 18.208

Hey @JArroyave ,

This should be resolved in MX 18.2X (latest at the moment is 18.208), this will change Cellular from "Connecting" to "Not Inserted" if there isn't a SIM present in the device.

Edit: Apologies, looks like it'll be included in the next MX 18.2X release, I'll be sure to bump this thread when it's confirmed to be out. Please do try MX 18.208 though and let me know if this resolves it for you, as this build contains a number of cellular fixes.

Cheers,

Connor

Hi @ConnorL do you perhaps know if the API call for uplinks will return "Not inserted" as when I last checked it was returning "Connecting"

Hi,

Same for me here. I'm monitoring our Meraki networks and cannot have a green sensor on PRTG because of cellular connectivities detected as Connecting and not "Not Inserted" as it is on the dashboard.

Any update on this, looks like it may have moved out....do we have a target version?

Hey @michael_h  & @JArroyave,

This has been resolved in MX 18.2.10+, it will not be available in a MX 18.1.x release. As per ^^, Dashboard will now show a "Not Inserted" message when a cellular MX (67C/68CW/Z3C/Z4C) doesn't have a SIM inserted.

There is an outstanding fix for the Organisation > Summary page though, as this will still show an cellular MX without a SIM as a failed uplink.

Hi Connor,

I'm running version: MX 18.211.2 on my MX67C-WW and still getting Not connected from APIs regarding cellular connectivity.

Uplinks "Not Connected" (Uplinks Q2JY-WBWS-6AH2 interface cellular has the status connecting. Uplinks Q2JY-WKEL-C87R interface cellular has the status connecting.)

This is EXACTLY our situation as well.  PRTG is showing incorrectly and the "new" Meraki Overview is not useful when inaccurate status'  are displayed.

New here

I'm running MX version 18.211.2, I still see no way to disable dashboard warning for offline cellular uplinks.
