MX105 DHCP problem

Hi,

I had a problem with a MX105 where I didn't get any IP address in DHCP mode. The same WAN connection is OK when I connect my PC in DHCP but not for the MX - I had to give a fixed IP address in order to reach the Cloud - quite a problem for me has I have to rool-out quiet a few MX in the coming month

Any Idea ?

Txs

You'd might want to get in touch with your ISP and have them check logs on their end, and see what might have gone wrong. Normally the MX doesn't have problems with DHCP, but it's not uncommon that it won't get a lease for various reasons. In my experience it's sometimes a hit and miss.

If the MX has been connected for some time and been unssucessful in getting an address, it might just stop trying. Then a power cycle or WAN connection reseat might be neccessary.

I'm pretty sure @jeanIoa is talking about the MX itself receiving configuration via DHCP over the WAN link.

Did you take a look from the Local Status Page of the MX, as to the existing config, if there was one?   https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Tools_and_Troubleshooting/Using_the_Cisco_Me...

Did you try factory resetting the MX?  https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Support/Resetting_Cisco_Meraki_Devices_to_Fa...

Yeah, I see. 😅

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Yes Indeed but the config was empty - I didn't made a factory reset - I'm installing a lot of MX and the first time I had this problem with the 105
