MX WAN Compatibility with other vendors SFP

Hi,

I have a Meraki MX250 to be installed. However, I forgot to purchase the Meraki SFP.

Is Cisco SFP compatible with Meraki MX250 WAN port?

Thanks,

Hey

yeah it should work, we used FlexOptics SFP and worked fine.

Here's a List wich SFP's are supported for wich model, if you have SFP's from Cisco with the same specs, go for it 🙂

Hi,

Which means the WAN interface is workable using Cisco SFP right?

Thanks,

Hi,

Will other vendors SFP (Cisco) cause any potential issue to the traffic or device?

For example, packet loss?

Thanks,

we don't have any issues with that sfps

Okay, thanks a lot

As mentioned above, they should all work. However some are certified by vendors.

Just because they are not certified doesn't mean they won't work

Kind of a big deal

We've run into problems when using LX/LH or SX optics on the WAN port of an MX right out of the box. It's always required a firmware upgrade before the WAN port will work with those optics. Same goes for using some 1G optics on the SFP+ ports.
