MX Firmware 19.1.x WAN Uplink Configuration

Hi all,

does anyone observe the following Issue on MX95/MX105 (maybe also other MX modells) ?

1) I configure WAN1 for fiber via local page, everything works fine and MX is online in the Meraki Dashboard.

2) Later, I configure WAN2 for DSL via Dashboard, I double check all credentials, including VLAN ID, but WAN2 ist down.

3) When I'm Onside, I connect my Notebook locally and see everything is okay, except the the VLAn ID in emty.

4) I put in the correct VLAN ID and WAN2 is also online in Meraki Dashboard.

How much later did you configure WAN2 from the Dashboard?

It's not something I've noticed on the few MX95/105 I've configured. I did have one MX105 a few months ago that didn't seem to get the correct uplink configuration from the dashboard, but I contributed that more towards us doing many things simultaneously and had some errors in the config. So I won't necessarily say it's something I noticed before.

But it should take the WAN2 config made on the dashboard. Remember that WAN1 and WAN2 both have shared interfaces with an SFP port and an RJ45. Also, the MX105 (at least) sets the WAN mode to SFP or RJ45 at boot time. Which is also why you cannot hot swap from SFP to RJ45 on the go.

So if WAN2 had come up as an SFP port at first, it may have required a reboot to use the RJ45.

I have a recollection of a recent dashboard bug not correctly deploying the local status page password.  Perhaps it broke some other things as well.

I bet this issue will be fixed within a week.  Otherwise, I would contact support.
