MS125 Local Page Status Failed

Dear all,

We couldn't access MS125-48P with Localpage, we have try doing static IP address using this guide below :

https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/MS_Installation_Guides/MS125_Series_Installation_Guide#Assigning...

But after all, we still couldn't get to access the MS125, it's confusing us, because we couldn't do anything to configure from localpage, like usual MS/MX series

glad to hear your response

The MS125 specifically has a bug that does not allow you to visit the LSP through the management port.
It is sufficient to be connected on an access port directly with a pc or laptop and just go to the http://1.1.1.100 webpage.

I even found out that your pc doesn't even have to be on that subnet.  The switch simply intercepts this and responds.

Is the MS already added to a network and receiving a management IP?

If so, try accessing the IP it received.

And remember to allow access to the local page on the dashboard

on my condition now, the MS is still on staging step, to pre-check and pre-config before added to the dashboard...

Create a network called test and add it to that.  Since moving to Meraki, the first thing we do is connect it up as they are cloud managed devices.  I've actually never gone to the local status page for a switch in many years of using them!

Are you trying to use the management port or a LAN port?

I'd try plugging it into a device that can access the internet and gives out DHCP and add the order/serial number to the dashboard.

i'm trying to access the MS125 from the Management port, it's worked when we connect the LAN to ISP devices to get DHCP, and access the MS125 from the dashboard.. but unfortunately, we wonder how to reach/config MS125 when there are no available connectivity to public Internet? the MS125 should be managed by management port itself, since the management port built in on the device

Hello,

You can access the switch local status page by connecting the laptop directly to the LAN port with a static IP address 1.1.1.99 (subnet is 255.255.255.0) and accessing the local status page using the 1.1.1.100 IP address. If required please refer to the below KB article on accessing the local status page using the IP address.

@kchand , as a matter of interest, does that still work if you do it from a VLAN that the switch management interface is not in?

Yes, it should work even if you connect to a switch port whose VLAN is different from the switch management interface.

we have try this static configuration, but it doesn't work.. is there another setup we needed? or is there different management IP form MS125 ?

Hello,

There is no different management IP address for the MS125. As @cmr suggested, create a test network and add the switch to that network. Once the switch is added, verify if you can access the LSP.

Alternatively, you can also configure static IP via Fixed IP assignment. Configure your upstream DHCP server for a fixed IP and assign it to the switch mac address.

well this is worked, connecting my laptop to LAN and set static IP 1.1.1.99 /24 and having gateway 1.1.1.100

thank you
