Fast Lane

Getting noticed

Fast Lane

I Use a Meraki System at home (MX65W+MR30H+MS220-8). Very pleased with it!

I do not have System Manager.

Is there another way to activate Fast Lane, so that mij iOS devices have better service?

Device type:Apple iPhone
Capabilities:802.11ac - 2.4 and 5 GHz, Fastlane capable « details
Channel width:80 MHz
Maximum bitrate:867 Mbps
Spatial streams:2
802.11r:Off
Fastlane:Capable

Cisco + Apple have developed Fast Lane for iOS devices to improve the real-time application experience on enterprise networks. Meraki MR Access Points, in combination with a wireless profile installed on the iOS device, will enable the Fast Lane technologies.

Or is this only for enterprise networks  Smiley Frustrated

Many thanks,

LD

Kind of a big deal

I think this only works with the stand alone access points, not the built in access points.

And yes, I think it can only be done with a Systems manager profile.

Thanks for the answer!

It's a pity it won't work. So no Fast Lane for me .....

Have you seen - Fast lane for IOS on Meraki beta now open

SM is eminently affordable for home use, and is ideal for families with children. About GBP 56 for a three year license.

Good luck with that, it seems a very good way of making sure the kids are monitored in a non-intrusive way, plus finding the device when they leave their new shiny behind.
