Different brunches with same IP for MX

Hi everyone,

We are going to deploy one MX for a different sites and we are planning to use the same network between MX and router. We are thinking if it will cause any problem on AutoVPN tunnels. The main idea is to use the same network IP assignament for MX WAN configuration.

We understand that a FW or router edge will NAT the WAN IP and VPN Registry will save the information of each site with the IP public. So all of MX will get VPN registry properly.

The following diagram explains a single site but there will be more of them.

Thank you so much.

Kind of a big deal

So the subnet on the outside and inside of the MX are the same?

I wouldn't do this.

I am not pretty sure about that. I would not recommend it too.

But this scenario is a question from a colleague that wants to configure the same internal network on every site between router and MX. I do know if the network inside will be the same or not.

But the question if each MX could have the same IP address before a router that implement a NAT.

Thank you Philip.

I did it once by accident.  It seemed to worked, but the dashboard had a big warning on it for the site concerned.
