Checking for open ports

Checking for open ports

I'm new to using a Meraki Router, so would like to check the port forwarding rules etc that are on the configuration that I've inherited with a new role.

Historically I've used to check for open ports - should this work if I set the IP address to that on my Meraki?

And as a second question, if I have a Public Port in the Forwarding Rules do I also need a complimentary rule in the Layer 3 Inbound Rules?

Kind of a big deal

By default, any incoming traffic is blocked unless it has a forwarding rule or NAT, which seems to be the case in your case.

You don't need to use software to check this, just check the rules created.

You don't need an additional rule, since L3 rules are intended for outside.

Check the documentation.
