Assigning Meraki static WAN IP address remotely.

I am working on a project where we are installing new Meraki MXs. We had some issues with the onsite engineers configuring static WAN details from the local status page. - lack of experience.

Our workaround to speed up the process was to connect MX WAN2 into the current network to get the MX online via DHCP. The remote engineer would then configure WAN1 with the correct static IP address details. This has worked fine so far.

Question is – does this WAN1 static IP configuration retain after a reload or power cycle?

Yes, WAN static IP even remains after removing from the network in the dashboard.  You have to do a reset on the device to clear it (or change it in the dashbaord).

thank you. I  did suspect this.

But had a scary thought that all these MXs that have been done this way will lose WAN1 static IP config if site has a power cut etc
