AnyConnect licensing

Fairly new to administration of Meraki's.  Have been reading about licensing & support.

I have been reading that AnyConnect licenses need to be renewed, but then have been told that they are basically bought once and good forever,

If I could get some clarification that would be helpful.

Thank you,

You always have a kind of Subscription for AnyConnect. There are three models:

  1. Subscription per Person that uses the Cisco Secure Client. Every User needs a license. The term is typically three or five years (which have the best price/value ratio) and after the term it has to be renewed.
  2. Same as 1) but you "buy" the license (it is perpetual). But for Updates of the client you need a service contract.
  3. Licensed per device, but this is only useful if you have many users but only a small amount of them connect at the same time. Again, you need a service contract.

In 99% (just a guess) option 1 is the way to go.

That is one of the best descriptions I have even seen.

Thank you for the clarification. After a day of digging around finally found our order for AnyConnect, and we bought for 2 years.

The previous admin had left, and checking around Meraki portal saw things were dropping off.
