Alternative to VPN client built-in on Windows

Ive got this issue:

i configured a VPN using the built-in configuration on Windows. Sometimes doesnt work and need to reload to make it work.

I wonder what other alternative i got that can be compatible to connect remotely to VPN Meraki. OpenVPN doesnt seem to be the correct one and not willing of configuring Anyconnect at the moment. Any other option  can download and test?

thanks

Mauro

You can use this app.

https://www.draytek.com/products/smart-vpn-client/

You can configure the L2tp connection with this app.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Hello,

Unfortunately, the only alternative to Windows Client VPN is AnyConnect. Can you explain when you are experiencing issues while using the Windows built-in VPN?

Yes,sure. Basically if i try from MAC i have no issue.. Couple of hours before a was showing a client the configuration of my VPN. Since i wanted to show how it was done from the scratch i deleted the VPN and started to re-create. I configured it like the previous one. Tried many times to connect but couldnt. After 20 minutes trying do understand i decided to reload the laptop. First try i was connected. My client has got lots of this issue...all with Windows...and al work perfectly after reload.

Can you check if you have experienced any one of the errors mentioned in the following article?

I have a tool that will create a PowerShell script for you for deploying the client VPN connection on Windows.

https://www.ifm.net.nz/cookbooks/meraki-client-vpn.html

If you use that, every time you run the PowerShell script you'll get the same result.

Why "unfortunately"? Secure Client is a huge step forward to using the dinosaur-like built-in VPN solutions.
