GS110-48P - VLAN (with out Meraki Edge)

Maybe I am blind, maybe I am lazy, maybe I am just not that smart......but....

Why is it that I can not find documentation to setup a number of VLAN on my 48 port switch? All of the documentation seems to go back to needing to configure VLAN at an edge device as opposed to a switch. Is this the case? Our facilities all use UTM from another vendor (WatchGuard) and will not be changing in the foreseeable future...this will be a pass-fail in our environment for Meraki (Go).

The Meraki Go line of switches are only layer 2 capable. If you're looking to create L3/routed interfaces that's where you need something else to be the router like a GX firewall or some other routing capable platform.

Thank you for the answer, however, I am not sure what question you are answering.

In general, and in most environments (SMB and up) a VLAN is used as a way to identify resources for network devices to particular resources on other subnets. From there, in general we will pass traffic on a network switch with multiple VLANs and decide port for port what VLAN (tagged or untagged) is on a given interface on the network switch....for that, I need to inform the switch what VLAN's it needs, what ports are trunks and on and on from there.

Nowhere on the MGT interfaces do I see a section to indicate the VLAN's needed on the device. We only got this device due to the shortage of our new go-to Netgear (Lifetime Warranty) in our ancillary facilities and IDF's. Thus far, other than price, not impressed (the build-in rack tabs are annoying and limit our mounting options as well)>

VLANs are used for network segmentation and reducing broadcast domains and not how you describe it above.

Description aside (I have not renewed my CCIE in about 15 years when we dumped Cisco for Brocade/Foundry - about 130,000 ports worth). How do I assign a VLAN to a specific port? I am sure I am missing something simple. I simply need for /10-/20 to be untagged on VLAN 10 and /21-39 to be untagged on VLAN 20, all with access to VLAN15 (printers). There has got to be a simple way. Seriously, none of us are sales folks here...but, it should not be too hard (and no WebUI from the device?????)

We got this device from Amazon in a pinch...I am thinking it is going back to the Amazon gods. For our ancillary clinics, we have found Netgear to be a great, easy-to-manage solution and not have some odd interface and (in theory) hidden config buttons.

I do not have the + option in the top right with any option other than SSID's.

I think you should wait for your preferred solution, NetGear, to come back into stock.

If you can't wait - it sounds like you aren't using a Meraki series matched to your needs.  You probably need something like an MS120 or MS210.
