Clients Identity

When I list clients

Windows 10 systems come up as the HOST NAME

MACbook Pros.

44aec9d1-a7f6-4756-ac97-2dd741e84b2e

or

MBPUSERNAME

What is Meraki looking for to resolve or relate the name to the host?

It's due to MDNS https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Cross-Platform_Content/Rename_a_Client's_Hos.... Unfortunately anything that sends MDNS (mostly Macs, but other OS'es can too) the name will show up as the long MDNS string.

Thinking about this sideways, can you configure the name that MDNS sends from the client side?

Is this a MACOS change that all of a sudden the identity of the MACBOOK Pro is unusable?

Does the Jump to MX16.15 possibly catch up with  MACOS upgrade or Windows 11?
