Blacklist an entire top level domain in iOS Web Content Filter?

I am wondering if it is possible to use place-holders/wildcards to blacklist an entire TLD (top level domain) in the iOS Web Content Filter?

For example we have problems at the moment with students playing .io games (e.g. mope.io), and no matter how many individual .io sites we blacklist, they always find another one to play.

So we want to block all URLs ending in .io

My understanding is that Apple don't allow you to use wildcards in the web content filter

Do you run your own internal AD controller, such as Active Directory?  If so create a dummy top level domain called "io".  Then all DNS looksups will use the internally defined domain, which is empty, so will fail.

Plan-B - use Cisco Umbrella.  And as a bonus, you get a lot of reporting.

Thanks @PhilipDAth , that is what we had tried.

Turns out that one of our departments needs access to some .io sites, so we can't block it after all!
