Adding network shares to dock

I'm currently trying to add network shares to the dock.

If I add smb network shares as a directory (smb://path/to/share) the items just appear as question marks.

If I add them as URLs, it says to enter a valid URL.

Does anyone know how to add network shares to the dock, please?

Thanks!

Here to help

This site is great for making a Dock profile. Then I import the mobileconfig.

PS: Some of the URIs for things like System Preferences will have to be updated for Catalina, as they moved some system apps out of /Applications and into /System/Applications

Great.  Many thanks for the link.  I've used it to create a number of docks to suit our needs.
