Does anyone know how small of a timespan you can specify for retrieving historical analytics from MV?

For example, can I specify a period of a second or does it need to be something like 5 minutes, an hour, or something else?
How fine-grained is historical analytics?
I don't exactly, but I would guess 1 minute would be the lowest. I would start at 60 mins, then 30,15,5,1, etc. until you find the limit.
