Upgrades not visible on device

I recently performed a swap of an MX, When on the Appliance Status page the device shows "Up To Date", but within the organisation Firmware upgrade page these devices show out of date and an upgrade required.

This is equally the same for all devices, showing up to date, but actually being out of date.
Why would these pages not match?

What model is hardware device?  And what firmware is it running?

Some legacy systems won't get the newer firmware releases due to compatibility issues.  Not sure if this is the case in what you are describing.

Firmware Upgrade Barriers

Firmware upgrade barriers is a built-in feature to prevent certain upgrade paths on devices running older firmware versions trying to upgrade to a build that would otherwise cause compatibility issues.

spotted on an MX85 initially.
The device was running 18.211.2
Upgrade to  18.211.5 is available only in the Organisation page.

I also have an MX64 running 18.211.2 and that provides warning that upgrading to 18.211.5 isnt compatible.
No such warnings on the MX85s though.

You may be able to upgrade one of the two devices to current firmware release by selecting which one is eligible to be upgraded.  The other might be at it's latest firmware eligible release.

This is correct,
I have been able to upgrade the 85 but not the 64.
That however was besides my point. The device dashboard and the Organisation Firmware dashboard arent synced up.

Understand - not sure if it's related to your MX swap as indicated in the original post?  Or if the disparity is due to another reason (legacy devices at the latest eligible firmware).  You might consider opening a support ticket to get support's direct feedback and further resolution regarding the disparity.

MX64 will never run 18.2 or later.  Dashboard, when actioning an upgrade to >18.2 in Org > Firmware upgrades on a Network containing an MX64 will actually apply the latest GA version of the supported firmware for MX64, likely 18.107.12, as things stand.

Similar firmware restrictions apply to other older products, as per https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Firmware_Upgrades/Product_Firmware_Version_R...

Thank you Green man, I understand. and appreciate the response.

But The question isnt focussed around the MX64
It is focuessed around the fact that the Device dashboard says one thing, But the Org Firmware updates page says another. If it is the fact that a device can have a generally available option that is not the latest that that at least makes sense. But then why would the MX85 appear this way?

The schedule upgrades tab current firmware column should show a firmware version matching the version on the device status pages.

The overview tab only shows every current version available it does not mean those versions have been applied to your networks.

If you are saying the schedule tab and the device status show different versions AND it's not an instance where the device doesn't support the latest version, then there is some sort of GUI bug and you should open a support ticket.
