Unbinding Networks from templates and retaining configuration

Hi Community,

I have a project I’m working on to unbind my networks from templates. I am using the retain confirmation flag and it seems to work majority of the time, however sometimes the objects in the firewall change from the VLAN object to the CIDR… obviously for management this is a bit of a nuisance.

anyone had this same issue?

After unbinding, the network loses access to the template's VLAN object mapping, so the Dashboard replaces the object with the actual subnet.

This is expected behavior and can make management more challenging, as object-based rules are easier to maintain at scale.

Expected behaviour. Best feature of templates is the Unbind and keep config buttons.

out of interest why are you unbinding?
