Software version of the dashboard.

Customers can upgrade their devices to desired firmware versions, but what about the dashboard itself? This software runs on the cloud of course, but does it have version numbers that a customer can see? Do different customers have different versions, and can they see what version they have? (I'm not referring to that button that sometimes appears to toggle between "new version" and "old version.")

Here's why I ask: One day, I was logged in to the Meraki dashboards of two different customers. They both had selected any "new version" buttons that were available. They both had the latest firmware versions on all devices. And yet, the two customers had two entirely different GUIs. Why would this be?

No, the dashboard is something that is maintained by the Meraki development team, there is no way for the customer to update or customize the dashboard.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Exactly , this is pretty much the case ( and the beauty ! )  for all SaaS products / dashboard.

I know that customers can't control the version, but it would be nice to see a version number somewhere. If I see two different GUIs, I would like to know with certainty which one is the newer one. For example, some GUIs have Inventory and Licensing on two different pages. Some have them combined on one page. It seems like the combined one is the newer method, but I'm not positive. I thought I remembered seeing a combined one over a year ago.

In this case, what I suggest is to make a feature request to Meraki.

Another detail is that Meraki was performing an update on the dashboard, so it may not have been applied in all regions.

Hi @meraki-user,

The Dashboard version is not public-facing information.

Aside from whether the organization has opted in for Early Access features or not, at times, it is possible to see different versions across organizations hosted in different Meraki servers as there is a delay in syncing across all of the Meraki servers after changes are rolled out by the development team.

You're welcome to submit this as a feature request for future consideration.

Cheers,

>Do different customers have different versions

When an upgrade happens, it starts rolling out across the shards.  Some upgrades take months.

So yes, different customers can be running different versions.

Yes, it seems to take many months. One customer still has the old GUI style, where the SD-WAN page doesn't have the "Policy" button in the Internet traffic section. Other customers have had that for many months.
