MX licence move to new device

Hi,

As part of the new kit we are purchasing will be a MX68CW-HW-WW, I would like to move the current 5 year MX64W licence to the MX68CW-HW-WW and purchase a new 1 year Advanced security licence for the MX64W that will then be used as a Z3 type device by a teleworker.

What is the best way to achieve this?

Currently there's no way to migrate licenses between device types.

An MX64 license is specific to that device and is not transferable to an MX68.

I suggest talking to your Meraki/Cisco sales rep to see if you can get a cheaper deal on the new license.

Hi and that’s not actually true. The support converted one mx64 license to an MX67 yesterday for me

As far as I'm aware this has historically not been the case.

It's possible they are doing this now as it looks like Meraki will soon be changing up their licensing where an MX64 and MX67 will use the same license SKU
