MR36 fail to upgrade

Hello everyone,

i wanted to set up the update scheduler for the AP's and the following error came up:

Firmware Upgrade failed due to the following node_groups:  Firmware Versions MR 28 and MX 16 require nodes to be able to
contact Meraki's Device to Cloud Connectivity service over TCP port 443.
One or more of your Meraki devices are unable to communicate with these
new servers. For more information about this upcoming change and how to
resolve the connectivity issue, please go to
https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Cross-Platform_Content/Meraki_Device_to_Clou...

I have checked the firewall rules. Any 80, 443 TCP outbound. That should work.

Can anyone help here?

The most common cause is you have an offline device in the network.  If even one device is offline, the https test fails and prevents you from upgrading.

If this is your case, you can temporarily remove the device, wait about 4 hours, and then you'll be able to do the upgrade.

Can you do a "Dashboard thorughput" test for that specific AP and take a look at your firewall logs?

I've forgotten this too many times and gotten caught out again and again.  It's burned into my brain now.
