MONITOR DEVICE PARAMETERS

Hello Folks,

Would like to understand on monitoring the below parameters for Meraki devices.

CPU Utilisation
Memory Utilisation
Interface Utilisation
Channel Utilisation

Reviewed below links:

_https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Monitoring_and_Reporting/SNMP_Overview_and...

_https://documentation.meraki.com/MX-Z/Monitoring_and_Reporting/Load_Monitoring

But not getting a clear picture on these parameters.

Appreciate if someone can assist on this ?

Regards,

Vineet

Where are you getting that information? To be honest I did not find any of that in the MIB files. You can monitor a lot of things but not % data which is probably what you need to compile using a sample of data over time.

This came as a requirement to monitor these parameters. So just trying to explore how can it can be achieved.

You can get some of this (at least a feel for this) via the Dashboard, except for memory utilisation.

I am unable to find CPU or memory utilization of any device in Dasboard. Would you be able to direct me to the any available settings ?

This article talks about the load monitoring feature.  I don't think it is turned on by default, so you might have to ask support to turn it on for you.

On the whole you never have performance issues with Meraki MX kit as long as you stay within the sizing guidelines.

Unfortunately, you cannot monitor Meraki's CPU/Memory information via API or SNMP. However, you can monitor ports traffic and sample over time to do performance monitoring, which the dashboard does in the cloud.

For example, you monitor a switch uplink port every 60 seconds and gather total packets in/out and measure them over time. This way you can see how much traffic every minute.

Correct. So can i finalize my comment that it is not possible to view CPU/memory utilization of a device ?
But if that is the case, from a performance monitoring perspective, isnt it a feature which is missing ?
