Grace-period info inquire

Hi,

I recently added an MS120-8P to a temporary network. This MS120 has likely been used multiple times before without a license. I found it in our warehouse and set it up for a client, and since everything is functioning, I believe it’s currently in a 30-day grace period.

I have a couple of questions:

  1. Where can I check if it’s in a grace period? The License Info page doesn’t show this information.

  2. How exactly do grace periods work? For example, if I unclaim my MS120-8P five days before the 30-day grace period ends and then claim it in another organization, will the grace period reset?

Thanks for any insights, and thank you to this great community!

The link doesnt really help me (although i appreciated it). In this new networh i have a CO-TERM expiring int 924 days. so i have no problem of shutting down the Organization. In this organization i just added a new MS120 and cannot see the grace-period info.i was wondering how i can see that.

You will only be in your grace period if your overall Dashboard is over-subscribed.   Bear in mind that in Co-termination, there's no concept of having a license tied to an indivudal device;   Dashboard simply counts the licences claimed for a particular model and compares it to the number of devices of that specifc model that are assigned to a Network in that Organization.   Provided the claimed license count is less than or equal to the device count, you are compliant and Dashboard will be happy.   Those counts are shown in a table on the License info page.

Are you sure your Dashboard is in Co-termination?

You don't get told eplicitly in the Dashboard that you are in the Grace Period, but you will know you are in it, if your Dashboard is non-compliant, but everything is still working.   If you are non-compliant because your co-termination date was reached without renewing, the 30 day count will start from there.

If you are non-compliant because you exceeded your device count for a specific product license, the 30 day count will have started from when you went over the limit (when you added the device(s) to the Network they're in).
