Co-licensing - what happens with licenses for EOS equipment?

Hello,

Our licensing is set for co-termination.
I've read the documentation and think I understand - but I have not found (or I've missed) whether licenses for EOS devices are removed from the license calculation.

For example, we have (20) MX60 and (11) MS22 licenses showing in our license list, but the devices are long gone.
Are those licenses included in the calculation?

Any licenses you add are included in the calculation as you add it, even if it's not in use. They don't clear out until you renew.

License expiration date calculation is not related to live device inventory.

From the below: "The Current Device Count does not impact the Co-Term date of an Organization, the Co-term date is instead calculated based on the License Limit of the Organization. "

I understand the device count doesn't matter. It is the fact that the license is for an EOS device - why would the license be included in our expiration date calculation?
I do not understand what you mean by "They don't clear out until you renew".

What would I be renewing?

Previous leadership purchased all 10yr licenses, so these devices were gone long before the anything would be renewed.

It's included because it was a valid license when bought and is still valid. You can still use EOS devices beyond EOS. Just because you've wisely chosen not to doesn't invalidate the license.

You will renew when your expiration date happens, at that renewal, you would only renew what you actively use and when you process the renewal the licenses for those unused devices will no longer appear in your license calculation.

Do be aware, as a co-term org, you are able to migrate those MX60 license to MX64s and then to MX67s. See license conversion on the previously linked document. You may have to open two cases to do this, once to 64 and then to 67, but it should work. So you could have some use for them down the road.

Ah, the light bulb went on!
I read the "Renewing your dashboard license" section multiple times today, but I just wasn't getting it.
In 2019, a former sales person told me the co-licensing removes the requirement for renewing licenses, that the old ones will drop off.

Thank you for the info on the license migration, thought that only applied to RMA devices. That will make a difference moving forward.

I appreciate your time.
