Clarification on Firmware Upgrade – "Up to Date" vs. "Upgrade Available"

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to understand the difference between "Up to Date" and "Upgrade Available" in the firmware upgrade section of the Meraki dashboard.

I have a switch that shows "Up to Date" under Availability, but at the same time, the Status is "Warning", and I’m still being offered an upgrade.

  • Should I upgrade a device that appears as "Up to Date", even though there is an available upgrade?
  • What exactly does "Up to Date" mean in this context? Does it just mean I have the latest stable version, while a newer version is available?
  • How does this status correlate with the Warning label?

I'm a bit confused about whether I should proceed with the upgrade or not. Any insights would be appreciated!

Thanks!chrome_SE3OSQYKT6.png

Obviously I can't see what hardware models you are using or your image refers to, however you can go to:

Dashboard > Organization > Monitor > Firmware Upgrades to see what releases are available.

The one listed Upgrade available is due to MX18.211.5.1 being the most current stable release version (or whatever the most recent release would be based on your hardware model).

Sorry, I still didnt understand.

I can see indeed that by entering the device itself, in the Firmware section, there is "Update available"
but, why its availability is "Up to date"
