Hi,
1- You are correct. According to Meraki’s documentation, you can connect up to 50 Meraki Go access points wirelessly to form a mesh network.
2- The GR62 supports mesh connections, but does not explicitly state support for IEEE802.11s. Meraki’s mesh networking functionality is automatic and self-healing, but it is designed to work exclusively with other Meraki access points and does not work with other vendors, nor with Cisco Catalyst or other Cisco access points.
3- The GR62 does not include router functionality and typically requires an internet connection for optimal performance. However, if you are setting up a closed network without internet access, you can still use the GR62 by connecting it to a local router or switch to manage network traffic.
I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.
