Re: Resolve "Alerting" status

If you click on each device, does it give you an error that tells you why it's in the alerting state?   Regarding the IP addressing: are you talking about wireless clients? If your SSID is set to use NAT mode, this is expected functionality. You can check that by clicking "Settings" in the bottom right, scrolling down and expanding "Advanced settings," and selecting "Wireless address translation mode." If you select your SSID, it will show you if it is in NAT or Bridge mode. Before changing it to bridge mode, go back to the advanced settings, and make sure the DHCP server under "Local network addressing" is enabled. Also, (I believe) NAT mode is required on the SSIDs that you want to use Guest networking features. ... View more

Hi @scourgio -   This would be similar to using a different brand access point and configuring it with the same SSID and PSK. In the end, your client devices will be able to roam between them (by disassociating and re-associating to the in-range AP). You'll lose out on some of the Client Balancing and Roaming features that come with enterprise Meraki gear.   Vincent ... View more

Hi @LarryF -    Yes, you will still need your Comcast connection. You'll also need the Meraki Go access point plugged into the Comcast modem with a network cable so it receives signal. The Meraki Go access points will turn that connection into wifi for you and your customers, allowing you to secure and control the wireless in ways Comcast won't let you.   Vincent  ... View more

Hi @Karl_Jacobsen -   While Cisco Meraki does not share roadmap or future plans, I did notice a security camera conspicuously prominent in the new Meraki Go YouTube video. It looks a lot like the MV12, though, so I'm not sure. Other than a camera, what other features/products would you like to see in Meraki Go?   Vincent ... View more

Hi Matt -    Welcome to the Meraki Go community! Yes, you can hook one Indoor Access Point up to your network/router and the other two devices will automatically connect and wirelessly mesh to the first device.   If you're looking to buy 3, we have a buy 2 get 1 free special at Moo Moo Networks! Hi Troberts1966 -    The Meraki Go Outdoor Access Point will work along side your existing MX60 and MR16, however, it is managed through a separate iOS/Android app. If you're looking for a device that integrates with the Meraki Enterprise Dashboard, you'll need a different device.   Vincent ... Hi @ValiantGS -   Meraki Go provides several major benefits over the access point features built into the ISP routers. Meraki Go allows you to quickly create secure Guest SSIDs to separate your visitors from customer data that's on your internal WiFi; it also lets you mesh indoor and outdoor APs to create seamless signal across your entire business; and it gives you the ability to traffic shape and filter your traffic to give priority to business-critical applications.   In addition to those features, Meraki Go's reporting and intelligence sets well above the WiFi offered by the ISP.   Vincent   ... Hi Rui!   You're correct, there are a lot of factors that decide this. All sorts of environmental interference can have a negative impact on any RF signal.   I have a GR10 about 10 meters from my desk, going through 3 walls, steel filing cabinets, and an oak credenza. It's at about -60 dBm, which is strong enough to support a mesh network.    Vincent ... View more

Hi Kane -    Thanks for your question. Meraki Go is only sold through distribution and not the usual channels you're familiar with like Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW) for enterprise gear. That means there is no NFR pricing or discounts for partners to test out the gear.   Your best bet is to choose a partner in your country and buy from them (if you're in the US, pick me 😀 ). You can find a semi-complete list of partners here: https://www.meraki-go.com/c/r/merakigo/en/us/all-partners.html   If you have any other questions about Meraki Go, please post them!   Vincent ... @Matthew_P -   I can't answer the question regarding Australia, but I can speak to the other two.   Meraki Go devices are only managed via the app. Logging into the Meraki Go website will only allow you to manage subscriptions, but not configure, monitor, or manage the hardware.   The Meraki Go app is currently limited to 20 APs.  ... Hi Danjns -   Just to build on Otis's reply - unlike many of the other mesh networking products out there, you don't need even need to plug each device into the network for initial setup.   The Meraki Go Access Points will recognize they're part of the same Go network and automatically build out your wireless network. Plug the first device into the network and power, and simply plug the rest of your APs into power (as long as they're in range of your network) and they'll grow the mesh. ... View more

Hi TongtongX -   Multiple part answer here:   1.) To manage multiple locations/clients/networks, you'll need different Meraki Go accounts that you can log into for each client. Just log out of the app and log in as the next account to manage the next network.    2.) You do not need to wire each AP. Meraki Go uses intelligent mesh technology, so only one device needs an uplink. The others need power (and need to be in range of the others) to mesh together. Power can be provided via the included AC adapter.   Vincent Moo Moo Networks ... View more

Hi Oskar -   That's not possible. If you're familiar with the Enterprise licensing, the Meraki Go subscriptions are similar. It's a single key that has all of the subscriptions and you can't break them up.   Vincent ... View more
