Just got off the phone with Meraki support, was advised to disable Client balancing on the RF profile which could cause issues if the APs are close to each other (I'm not too sure about the layout on this particularily troubled site, but there's never been a wireless survey done there, that's for sure). There are just 3 MR42 APs running 30.7, scheduled for upgrade to 30.7.1 next weekend. "AP unable to handle additional clients" is just the slightly misleading alert shown when clients are bounced off of an AP due to the client balancing, I was told.

We suddenly got reports from a few sites about clients unable to connect to our wireless, and those who are connected get fairly lousy performance. I just noticed the new "Assurance" tab in the GUI, and when I peeked in the Analytics section there I saw quite a few association errors caused by "AP unable to handle additional clients" - this even on sites with relatively low number of users. Googling the term came up with nothing - anyone know what could be at play here?

That's weird, so this bug is moving across the configured SSIDs? In our case it was definitely the 9th SSID that was affected (Default name "Unconfigured SSID 8" as they start counting from zero).

I now found they actually updated the 30.7 release notes a couple weeks back. Not that it would have made much of a difference to us, we only have three active SSIDs. But at our main site (of course) one of them was in #9, due to the presence of various disabled legacy networks. No RADIUS on that SSID, by the way. One might be forgiven for thinking Meraki could have issued a warning to accounts where they saw this particular configuration, them having access to global inventories and all.

Bumping this thread as I got hit by this very issue this week. Workaround to get rid of the outdated policy was indeed to reboot the APs.

Whatever we did, both printers are now stable on the dedicated Wi-Fi VLAN. I wish I could share what the solution was, but we are unable to point to a single cause.

Printers are two rather different models - HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3636 and Canon imageCLASS MF244dw. We somehow managed to get them connected to the wifi network again and have now set up constant pings - hopefully that will make them last through the night.

Since doing a bit of subnetting on one of our sites we've been experiencing odd issues with the two wireless printers (yes, I know) that have been moved to the VLAN dedicated for printers. We can see the printers in cloud management and are perfectly able to ping them both from a test laptop on the same VLAN and from Meraki, but attempting to access the printers from the corporate VLAN has been spotty at best. We were intermittently able to ping both devices across VLANs and even print, but overnight that stopped working (Power save? Possibly - but restarting the printers did not make them recover). I am sure there are a number of possible reasons for this, but I would really like to get to the bottom of this before I cave and allow the printers to stay on the main subnet until they can be coerced into getting proper wired printers. Access points are all MR44. Things we've tried: Limit to 2.4 GHz, all fancy wireless features removed Static or DHCP (with and without reservation) Firewall bypass Any suggestions appreciated.

We're considering getting rid of a rather expensive and inflexible third-party solution that currently provides guest wireless access through individual credentials via SMS. The stock Sponsored guest feature, even if bare-bones, seems to be more than sufficient for our needs. Anyone using this is a production environment and can share any experience good or bad? The only questionable thing we've found in our testing is that when the approver clicks the email approval link, the service would confusingly say "John Doe has already been approved" - even if that user or device was never connected to that network previously. Reported this to Meraki Support, and got told to submit a feature request to have this corrected...

The costs and complexities involved for “proper” wifi authentication in a cloud only environment has made us rethink our whole approach. As long as we can restrict lateral movement (and printers etc are on isolated subnets and only accessible via their cloud gateways), our risk assessment may potentially lead to the conclusion that WPA2-PSK on the corporate WLAN is “good enough”. Lord knows that the pandemic has had our users do their business on networks way outside our control the last 18 months anyways.
