Got an outage window and back onsite and basically almost 5 hours later, 3 Meraki support engineers and still no data stack. I followed the provided instructions which failed at step 1. Found a way around it and continued. Waited 3.5 hours after the final step for the stack to form and then called it. Went with 12.32 this time. Not a happy camper 🙄

So I just got around to trying this out of hours and it didn't work. I created a switch template, selected it and my existing radio branch template and combined them. The branch template now shows as combined but the networks already bound to this template have remained radio only (I've waited a while too). When I select the new switch it will only let me add it to an existing combined network (not templated, main site) or another radio network (also not templated, another main site). Any suggestions? I don't really want to recreate everything as the existing template is working and in use for all the remote sites (radio only currently).

Great, thanks. So will this cause an outage? I assume I can merge the MS template into the existing MR template and keep the MR template name and bindings, is that right? The network is in production so I can't really experiment. Thanks

Thanks. So new MS only template and combine the templates? So all the sites with only an MR will become combined also but there won't be an actual switch at these sites and that won't be a problem?

I was very tempted but didn't want to risk it. Support also said unless they tell you to for a specific reason you shouldn't have to (ie stacking should work with the stable release).

So, I put 3 x MS390 switches into production recently and can report: Stacking didn't work - followed the specific MS390 instructions in the documentation multiple times Visibility information for MS390 is so wrong / inaccurate it is basically useless Sat waiting for support on the phone for an hour and gave up When I eventually got through to support the next day they said not to follow the documentation instructions and suggested I should have called them and was provided different instructions that require physical access again and an outage 🙄 Will see what happens when I can get back to site and have an outage. Tried 12.30 and 12.28.

Hi, I am using configuration templates for all branch sites which currently only have MRs. I now want to add a switch to one of these sites (and expect will add to other sites over time), however, I cannot see how to do this. I don't want to impact the existing branch. Can I add a switch to an existing configuration template if there will only initially be a switch at one site? I can't see an option to do this. Do I have to create a new template for combined branch sites (removing the scale benefit of one template for all sites) and apply my radio settings again (and cause an outage)? I've read all the documentation links regarding templates but can't see what I am trying to do. Thanks

The APs are close enough to overlap for roaming support and they can hear each other. In fact, the dashboard says the interference is coming from the other MR46 APs on the same channel! The Cisco WLC solution this is replacing was using different channels (same AP locations).

So I understand the radios start on a specific channel and then update but it's been over 24 hours and the 5Ghz radios are all on different channels but the 2.4Ghz radios are all on channel 1. The APs are all in 1 building across 5 floors. Standard indoor RF profile. All APs say auto for channel but none have changed. I've also tried forcing an update and they stay on channel 1. Channel utilisation for 2.4Ghz is fair to poor everywhere. Anyone experience this? What is the cause and fix? Thanks, Darren

So I am about to deploy 3 x MS390 switches (and MR46 APs) and am wondering, based on the feedback here, whether to leave stacking until it is more reliable but who knows when that will be. I can uplink each switch individually to the core to avoid stacking. I assume I can still use StackPower without data stacking? So from those who have stacked MS390 switches, am I better off not using stacking at this time based on your experience? Thanks, Darren

I've looked at the documentation but it's not clear exactly what this interface is used for. Can it be the cloud uplink? Can you connect all of them from a stack for a dedicated redundant cloud uplink? It doesn't appear to work as a management uplink out of the box. Thanks, Darren
