I'm working on a bid for a customer that wants to be able to track the amount of time their members are in their facility.  I recognize for several reasons why attempting to use network logs to do this may be silly, and this is a startup.  I know I need a router.  The router reports some data.   In theory, I've planned two separate member VLANS, and each VLAN will be supporting two different member types.    So far - I know I'll be getting an MX68 I don't know if/when I will be purchasing one or more MR36 devices.  That depends on the behavior of the network in the space with the MX68 alone.   VLAN 1 user type 1 - 2-hour network limit then booted off (can be managed with Guest access) user type 2 - 10-hour network per month   VLAN 2 user type 3 - 40-hour network limit per month user type 4 - unlimited   Question: I believe I can build reports based on logins by MAC address --> create client --> usage reports.   Is it possible to build a custom usage time report by start: login time, end: last seen + start: login time, end: last seen?  Or something similar? I want to get a baseline of time logged into the network then plan the next steps from there.   Let me know if there is a more natural way, or this is just a bad idea. Does anyone have experience with both the RV340W and the MX68 that can speak to the downside of the RV340W in comparison?  OR Can someone suggest a different alternative?  It is difficult to know when sifting through specs alone.  Thx   ... Hi.  I'm building a bid for a network and website for my first consulting gig in *years*.  I've been working as a product manager and grew up in IT.   The business is a workspace buildout for data-heavy individual users - up to 30 devices.  I'd like a LAN (or vLAN) for security cameras, cash register, entertainment system, SMB owner use, etc. There will be a heavily used vLAN for say 30 guest users (think coffee shop, and the high-end users are real data people).    It looks like I can make a 100MB fiber connection with cable internet for failover etc. for Internet service.     Can I use *one piece* of equipment - from the MX family - to configure 2 ISP connections mesh and failover, 3+vLANS, max throughput as much as possible up to ~512Mbps total. On one vLAN, I'd like to limit x# IPs to 4Mbps then throttle, On one vLAN I'd like to allow up to 20Mbps per x# IP based on member login, and the overage I'd like to spread out between the "corporate" vLan and the first two depending on demand.   I want everything like an enterprise build with a router, smart switches, and wifi access points.
