ok i know i just posted lol but I fixed it...   i was getting an 809 error and after posting here I started more "Googling"   and found this.   https://windowsreport.com/fix-vpn-error-809-windows-10/   Step 3 was my solution.  i did not try step 2.   on the windows 10 machine.
