That makes sense, I'd be pretty sure the orange is a speed indicator. On the MS225/210 models orange and green when solid simply indicate 100Mb or 1Gb. I'm pretty sure the 220 is the same so it would make sense that the faster models are similar. For a test, force one of the mr55 ports to 1Gb on the switch and see if the light goes green.
