We dont use any templated networks. I assume you are an org admin? Can you share with me a screenshot of how you get to your smartport profile configuration and set it at a network level instead of org level? maybe im missing something in our menu.

In the past I was able to create a Network level scoped SmartPort profile. Now after some change, depending on if you are an org admin or network admin, you will see different menu contexts. The intent behind the SmartPorts is to give admins the ability to select a SmartPort profile for a switch port. As an org admin, I routinely make changes across various networks. When I create a SmartPort profile, it's scoped to the organization. The plan for us is to create SmartPort profiles for all of our 40+ network sites. The issue is now that it's scoped to the organization level, when assigning a SmartPort profile as an org admin, there is not a simple list to select anymore, and you must now type part of the port profile name to narrow it down. This takes a little longer and is less efficient than seeing a drop down with all the applicable network scoped port profiles.

I just discovered that the MS130-8P switch I purchased was being powered by another Ethernet cable via POE. The external power adapter was not plugged in. I want to know which other Meraki switches support this feature and what its intended purpose is. I already understand that the best practice is the use the power adapter, but I want to know more about this feature and why it was built this way and what use cases there are for it, as well as what limitations there are. I already opened a case with Meraki support and it was useless. The first few back and forth comments from support was demeaning and kept repeating that no Meraki switches can be powered by a POE cable, which was of course false since I was starring at such a switch.

Is there a way to push out the webhook alert settings to all networks? I tried and failed. Normally I can get the alert settings from a "template" and push those out. But it did not seem to work for the webhooks for teams. Any suggestions?

So are you saying that we could have a large campus on let's say a /16 with hundreds if not thousands of devices, but if we use L2 isolation we would not have the types of broadcast issues if there was not any L2 isolation? I find this discussion very interesting and I want to start testing in my lab.

Update: Last Friday we had Meraki change the VPN registries and now all our VPN registry connections have been solid with no disconnect issues!

We have this exact issue! Recently we added a new SSID, and a day or two later we get complaints that users are not able to see the guest SSID anymore. It was on random APs. We rebooted those and for now its working. I would like to formalize this with a Meraki case. Is there a KB article you can share? (does merkai even have those?)

We have an MX100 primary and secondary and at times it takes a reboot or two to get them to work again. This must be a bug?

This does have an affect on new tunnels being established, or in cases where the public IP address of the hub is changed. This has been going on for over a year for us with many partial to full registry disconnects on all our sites.

As of 1/29/2020 we have this issue. For over a year we have been told by Meraki that there is nothing to worry about. However the problem of partial and full registry disconnects is more pervasive in our organization than it ever was. We recently did an IP address change and because of all the VPN registry disconnects and partial connects, the IPsec tunnels took WAY longer to renegotiate . This is unacceptable. We will be looking into having our MXs pointing to the newer Meraki VPN registries as a fix.
