thanks, CptnCrnch i was unsure if there was some lower limit. i did not think so but PRTG doco suggests one minute longer than recommended by the device vendor.

Hello, trying to configure netflow on MX devices to talk to PRTG The meraki documentation dos not provide information about what the recommended active timeout should be. has anyone used PRTG or other netflow connector and can provide some information on the settings they used? thanks in advance for any contributions

@PhilipDAth gave me a good direction to pursue, and made me think about the objects and output a lot more. After a lot of trial and error, I was still not able to expand objects, which was frustrating. So, instead, i went back to the method I was using to get the data from the meraki device I was using Invoke-RestMethod, however, changed this to Invoke-WebRequest, which provided all of the details I needed

Thanks, PhilipDath, i will give that a go. I thought I would try my hand at Powershell instead of my usual goto of Python PS is certainly more challenging...

Hello, When using the API to GET the MX 1:Many NAT rules, my output is incomplete. Instead of displaying the port rules the output displays portRules=System.Object[] I am using powershell I have read-only priveleges My output (using fake IP's): {publicIp=193.1.1.1; uplink=internet1; portRules=System.Object[]} Documentation output: publicIp: 146.11.11.13, uplink: internet1, portRules: [ { name: Rule 1, protocol: tcp, publicPort: 9443, localIp: 192.168.128.1, localPort: 443, allowedIps: [ any ] any assistance is welcome cheers!

Thanks for the reply. I did not think the flows included firewall traffic, especially that if denied packets If it does, then filtering syslog is an option Of course, it would be good for the MX device to have better logging options.

Hello, Would recording Flows in syslog do the below on an MX device? we would like to see flows that do NOT match any inbound rules on our firewall. For example, we have an FTP server with a Public IP address and a list of Allowed Remote IPs (client IP addresses) We would like to see in syslog (or elsewhere) when traffic from the internet hits the firewall rule for the FTP server and is denied. this is for both security and for diagnosing problems when a client cannot send files via FTP, for example, if they have provided the wrong IP address to allow this is a basic function of every firewall I have used. I have used Make a Wish. thanks in advance, rp
