A couple I could add:   With Meraki and its cloud management you can do the management from wherever and whenever by default. No need to mess with VPN to make that possible. With centralized controllers and remote APs you need to ensure the two have layer 3 connectivity and there are limits regarding latency and MTU. Meraki's APs just need an internet connection and some outgoing ports opened in the firewall. Ever since I first started using WiFi, concurrently in NYC, London and Munich I avoided trying to propagate WiFi through walls. Having strong energy conservation proclivities, I had learned the benefits of foil lined wall board, so WiFi was never going to make it. Lots of houses in the US do not provide the same problems as they do in the rest of the world (NYC is only in the US as far as the post codes are concerned 🤣, some of those Manhattan apartment houses are solid). Attend an ITU conference and you might be less sanguine about existing WiFi usage. Manufacturers have a lot invested in current technology. They will have to be dragged screaming into the 802.11ad world. There is a lot of uninformed prejudice about what is possible in the ad portion of the spectrum. Also you can't configure IPSec vpn  between two MX if the WAN ports have private IPs. The MX will not negotiate IPSec unless the port has internet connection, the port status will show failure until it gets internet connection. Hence, if you have two sites connected via MPLS then you can't have VPN between them since the WAN ports don't have internet connection. ... View more
