Thank you for your advice. I tried to get logging messages using some Syslog application. The logs I received didn't contain timestamps. <134>1 1568079752.579029350 Test_AP events type=disassociation radio='1' vap='0' Should I set up something on Meraki? Or, do I need to configure something on the Syslog application?

We are planning to provide guest access using Meraki MR. we are going to build a syslog server in order to get the information how long guests are using our network. 1) Could someone let me know which logs we need to send to syslog server to get to know what time guests start using and what time guests finish using our network. 2)Could someone show me the log above? 3)Does a syslog server need to assign a global ip address? Could someone let me know the boot sequence of Meraki MR? Farmware was installed at the first time that MR was connected to cloud, right? After that, MR always download their configuration except network setting when it is rebooting? There is nothing else happened during MR is rebooting?

Our AP is now connecting the internet via Proxy and Proxy sends DNS query to outside DNS server and it handle the name resolution curretly. AP can not connect outside DNS server directly and we configure ip address of internal DNS server in our AP and we configured internal DNS server provide lookup for meraki.com, google.com and yahoo.com. (Invers query was responded as server failure but support team said it's not related to the alart.) However, an alert message as "DNS is misconfigured" has always appeared on the Dashboard. Whatelse can we do for turning off this alert?

I would like to know how APs behave when they send a DNS query. In the case that APs send a query to DNS and get response which means it is succeeded, how long does AP wait for the next query? And also, in the case that APs send a query and it was failed, does AP keep sending a query every 15 sec?

Hello. Thank you for your reply. We must use proxy so we must keep using port 80 for communication between AP and Cloud. Is there any restriction for this communication which is like AP's firmware upgrade can not be done or some other? And, also isn't this communication safe at all because it is using port 80?

Hello. We have our own proxy server and APs and Cloud are communicating through it. We only see 80 port is used for communication between AP and Cloud even we open 7351, 7734, 7752 on our firewall. (We monitored it on firewall. ) I think Port 80 is a backup route and we get alert as Meraki communication is using backup route. Is this a proper way to communicate between AP and Cloud through proxy server?

I'm trying to access Meraki AP without DHCP. In that case SSID:meraki-setup can be seen and need to connect with this SSID. Then I can configure ip address for Meraki. However, I only could see SSID:meraki-scanning right now. Why did it happen? Should I do something else? I just connected Meraki to PoESW and did not configure anything on the port.

Hello. Could you correct me if I have misunderstood. Meraki MR supports WMM and WMM is function to prioritize the traffic. There is no way to change or I don't need to change dscp for 4 catefories of traffic as AC_vo, AC_vi, AC_be, AC_bk because Meraki AP will define which traffic belongs among AC_vo, AC_vi, AC_be, AC_bk and Meraki has already difine which traffic needs to be high priority. If I turn on "Enable default traffic shaping rules", WMM will start working. When I want to disable WMM, I need to choose "Disable default traffic shaping rules". Is it correct understanding? P.S. Aruba WLAN controller can change the dscp for WMM. So I got confused why Meraki can not change the dscp for AC_vo, AC_vi, AC_be, AC_bk.

Hi, nwu1, Thank you very much for your advice. I opened a case in dashboad and got reply from Meraki support team. They said Meraki doesn't support dynamic WEP as you mentioned. All what I can do now is just using "make a wish". Cheers, CHGR
