Hi I saw an update in browsers about websites using encrypted client hello for dns. apparently protects dns better from isp etc. Does this make any changes to how Meraki devices work? Filtering etc?

Here's the scenario. You have a some devices that you know on your network - you have setup a set of firewall rules for the trusted devices. An unknown device connects you want to apply a firewall policy to give them the bare basics HTTPS DNS EMAIL. ie firewall rules. You can then move the new device into a known devices template. For the new devices can you set a CIDR firewall object that matches a new unknown device? Is it possible to achieve this, if so how? I think I could do this if I set fixed ip's for all my devices in sequence then can you match a set ie wild card the rest of the dynamic ips?

Hi, I have some IPv6 Teredo traffic I not sure what would be using it since our win 2019 servers are IPv4 only and Pc ip v4 our isp is only ipv4. Can you you block this type of traffic? I thought I'd take a block and see what breaks approach. Turned on content filter Proxy and Anonymizers. Only thing I could think of would be Microsoft update? Updating from another windows computer? EDIT :Looking at the current state of Meraki's ipv6 I did the following on the computers Open Run Type ncpa.cpl Double tap on the Active Network. A new tab will open. Click Properties Uncheck IPv6 Apply > OK No more IPv6. Happy days EDIT2: Apparently setting the registry to disable ipv6 is the recommended approach. It would be nice to hear any opinions on why you should leave this on or off? Or point me to an article.

would you still be able to do proxy to upstream? Is this achievable with port forwarding ie all traffic on port 53 from 192.168.128.0/24 force the internal address of 192.168.128.1 (router gateway) I wasn’t sure as the port forward seemed like you had to specify a public address? would be a great feature to stop misconfiguration.

hi, Is it possible to redirect anything on port 53 from a subnet to go through your dns server? that way doesn't matter what settings they have you know upstream it will go through the same server? ie the only available server for dns is the mx internal dns so if they decide to pick 8.8.8.8 or something else it will all get redirected to the same place. what are your thoughts on this approach?
