Hi All, WE are Using Meraki AcessPoints for Public Events. Now we have a problem. the Dashboard only accept do delete 100 User Data per Month!! Why??? After an Event, we are legal pushed to delete all user Data in the Dashboard. Now if I go to the Dashboard on Clients and select them all and click on forget the Dashboard tells me that I can only delete 100 User per Month! Why, is there any reasonable reason??? IS there a way true API to delete them all? Thanks for any Help

Hi HodyCrouch, We have the same problem. We want to give a User with registered true the Splash page for 1 Year acces without going again true the Splash page. But the maximum amount of 90 Day for Splash frequency makes this inpossible. so we want to youse the Whitelisted group Policy to do so but only for a certain SSID. You can do it true the Dashboard but not true the API. If you have only 1 SSID the group Policy "Withelisted" or your personal group Policy with the option Splash bypass is enabled will work.

Hi students, I just Want to explain what is SD-WAN from Meraki. Imagine you want to drive with a group of 20 person from Oslo to Madrid. You have 3 different typ of cars. 1 four wheel drive Car. (5 person but not as safe) 1 Limousine (8 persons very safe car) 1 Ferrari (2 Person fast but not as safe) Now there are a lot of different roads you can take but all have different challenge. The Highway (often jammed) The Road true the Mountains (Off-road but alway free of traffic) The Small Roads true all the City's and village (the longest way) Now, you need to bring all Person as fast as Possible and as Safe as Possible from Oslo to Madrid. That's the moment you will use SD-WAN. It will measure the state of the road and how much traffic jam you have on all Roads, based on this it will select the best Car and how fast you will get from Oslo to Madrid. As you can not take all person at once, SD-WAN will calculate witch will be the best Road, Car to go back to Oslo and get the rest of the Person. I hope you just got a felling what SD-WAN is doing when you have more that one WAN connection and you want to Secure transport as much data at a time. If you want a deep Dive go to: https://meraki.cisco.com/solutions/sd-wan

Hi, Just send all the Alerts to one single E-mail Adress and in the Mail Server or Client you can do a a rule sending the Mail to a other recipients: The Mail's coming from the Meraki looks like this: ************************************************************************************************** Organization: Netcloud Mobile Koffer Network: Kamera Test Motion detected for 'Grosser Teppich Hauptraum' at 07:09 PM CET on Nov 1 View here - Cisco Meraki This email was automatically generated; please do not reply. You can change the alert delivery settings for this network. *************************************************************************************************** You can now make a rule by searching for the Name of the Camera in my Case 'Grosser Teppich Hauptraum' and then sending it to the right Person. Thats the way I do it.

I Agree with you all. I also did some testing with the Motion Alert. and it took for ever to get a motion alert. does somebody know if there is a way to get the Motion alert faster? We have a Museum with want to Monitor some expensive Carpet with are attached to a Wall. if there is somebody touching them we need a sound alert in the room and a Mail or any kind of Alert on a Mobile device. We would like doing this with Meraki. I am open for any cool Ideas.

Hi Adam, in the SSID Access Page you can use two way to tunnel the Trafic to a way of concentrator: NAT mode: Use Meraki DHCP this will tunnel trafic and use DHCP from Meraki Cloud. VPN: tunnel data to a concentrator this is the MX Firewall but both solution are sending the Trafic to the Internet or at least to the Interface on the MX holding the Public IP. We had the same Problem with Apple TV device on the Meetinroom Screen. If you put them in the internal Network to share your Laptop Screen, Guest will not be able to share there Screen true the Guest WLAN. So we put the Apple TV on a VLAN called "Apple TV" and now we did the Access Rueles on the Meraki MX Firewall. so you can access the Apple TV from the internal Network and from the Guest Network without problems. Hope this helps Regards Michel

Hi All, I just found out that sometimes the solution is closer as you think 🙂 If you go to Network-Wide --> Clients you can click on add Client on the right side and Add a client Name and MAC and even put him on the Withelist. And if you look close you see the remark one MAC per LINE 🙂 in This way a could import all Mac Addresses the only thing is that all Client have the same name 🙂 but this not as important.

Hi Nolan, Your API Call is just working if this MAC Adress already connected once to the Network. IF you add a MAC witch has never connected to the Network you get: { "errors": [ "Client not found" ] }

Hi all, I have to Challenge, first there will be a SSID Called "Public". I have a list of 280 Mac Address of IPAD witch will connect to this SSID but don't need to see the Splash Page. This Means there are WhiteListed! But i only can add this Clients MAC in advanced on by one true the Dashboard. This takes for Ever 😞 so i was looking for a better solution doing this. Second: I have a other List of around 180 MAC Address witch will connect to a second SSID called 1:1 with only this mac addresses have the right to connect, and if one of this MAC gets connected it should ask for Username and Password from a Active directory Server.

Hello Achna, to first queries, No of User. * There are two factor witch need to be considered. * first the technical Point of view. The MR42 has 3x3 MIMO and a Max aggregate frame rate of 1.9 Gbit/s. This Means tat the Access Point has like 3 Radios inside do he can communicate on three different frequents at a time or he can channel this three to one single client (if the client support it) and increase the bandwidth to this client. * second the place where you are using this wireless LAN. as Wireless LAN is in the Air and you only ha a limited number of Channels (depending witch Country you are in) all clients are using the same channels are only capable to send one after the other. This is what we call Airtime. More User sitting on the same Chanel as smaller becomes your Airtime (Time you have to send your Data) So there is no Technical response on how many Clients a Access Point can Handel. But my Exprirence is MR20 --> very Small Office or Home Use 10 to 20 User MR33 --> Standard Use in Office up to around 50 User at a time per Access Point MR42 --> Place where it becomes Crowded Like a Restaurant or High School cantina. MR52 / MR33 --> High Usage Places like Sport events or Music Concert Hall with 100's of Peoble * Second Query Area in Meters Supported by MR42 The Area with a Access Point is Covering depends on to things. First his Antenna behaving. first thing to look at is the Radiation Pattern of the Antennas Have look at the Datasheet page 8 https://meraki.cisco.com/lib/pdf/meraki_datasheet_MR42.pdf this show you how the Antenna is sending the signal. in the Case of the MR42 with integrated antennas like a ball. This can be changes if you are using the MR42E with external Antennas. After this, it depends where you are using this Access Point. If you using it in a Hall witch is empty you can reach the signal more than 100 meter (320 feet). but if you are in a Building with heavy walls it is possible that the signal don't get more that 10 Meters (32 feet) far. I give you an example in my 200 square meter apartment in Switzerland build with massive Stone walls (concrete) and 7 Rooms i have tree Meraki MR33 and 1 Meraki MR42 Access Point to cover all of it. as i live in the 3th floor the MR42 is even covering the Garden 🙂 i hope i cloud give you some input to answer you question. If you need more Details just let me know. Regards Michel

Hi Raphael, I just checked the Data-sheet of the 1852i and there are some key Point's : 4x4 MIMO IEEE’s new 802.11ac Wave 2 I would consider the MR52 as he is Internal Antenna as the 1852i and has also 4x4 Mimi Wave 2 and two gigabit ethernet LAN connection. Regards Michel Rueger

Hi all, I have around 50 Meraki Access Point but no MX. We have a Microsoft Active directory Server. We have 1 SSID (Welcome) and we have 3 different VLAN's. Now I want that if you connect to the Wireless you get a Splash page witch ask for Login and password and if you login with a Studen User Account (AD group Student) you will be put in VLAN 100, if you use a Teacher User Account (AD group Teacher) you will be put in Vlan 200 and if you use a Login from a internal User you will be put in VLAN 300. IS this posible and if yes how? I checked all possible Meraki doku but didn't found something. Thanks for any Help Michel Rueger
