MR33 Seamless Romaing

Good day experts, i am having a brain freeze.

1) I have my wireless network called Edward2G, which my laptop, phone and tablets connect. I also have a Edwardguest (self explanatory)

2) i now have 2x AP's, 1x being the gateway and 1x being the repeater

3) I want to setup seamless roaming on the AP's for my self and wife on Edward2G, then

4) Setup seamless roaming for the Edwardguest, with a splash page when guest come over

Am I correct in saying that I need to ensure that both AP's have the same SSID, i.e Edward2G and make sure all are on the same channel? - If so, how do i go about incorporating a Edwardguest

Most clients will be able to handle multiple channels when roaming so I wouldn't adjust those settings (to start with at least). The most important thing is that both ssids are present on all APs, and that they are in bridge mode. That also means that you'll need the ssids drop the clients in different vlans and that the guest vlan is configured not to have access to the rest of the network. Probably you'll want to enable isolation for that vlan too.

Note that in the link above the guest network is in NAT mode rather than bridge mode. But this may provide a less optimal roaming experience.

Thanks very much BrechtSchamp, I was away thus late response. I've done the same SSID and Bridge and now playing with Splash page options for when guests come over 🙂
