Connect Access Point directly to ISP?

Can an access point be directly connected to an ISP modem with a static IP to provide guest access assuming using NAT?

As long as you have some method of providing power to the AP, and the ISP modem is providing some form of DHCP for the AP to grab and use (like a computer would), then I don't see why not.

Hi @gt57 , that shouldn’t be a problem.  You wouldn’t even have to give it a static IP as I assume the ISP’s modem would give it an IP via DHCP.  One issue would be power, are there any PoE ports on the modem?  If not you’ll need a power supply for the AP.
