AP Tags for SSID Template

Hey All,

Just wondering if it is possible to set SSID availability via tags in a template?

Do AP's have to be assigned to the template for the tags to show up as currently the options are blank.

Thanks

Yes, the tags will only show for APs bound to the template. APs (AP tags) not bound to the template won't be shown in the tag list on the SSID availability page in the template config.

Yes it's supported. A common use case for this is to broadcast a SSID in a template to a select set of bound networks or APs.

So for example, in a template for your West Coast branches you have a SSID that should only be broadcast on the APs at the Seattle site(s). Tag the APs in the Seattle networks(s) with a name like "SEA" or whatever you want. Then on the template set the Seattle SSID availability to APs with the tag "SEA". All other West Coast sites will not broadcast the SSID.

Thanks Ryan, will the Tags in the template only show up once it is bound to a site with access points?

Kind of a big deal

First, you need to create a Tag on the Access point.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.
