Public Wifi for a town

Hi Team

 

If i wanted to provide my town with public wifi how would you go about it

MR84 mesh network? has anyone done a similar setup you advise would be greatly appreciated

The wifi will be for the general public I cant even tell you how mant users will be connected at 1 time, but for argument sake lets say 5000

I just need to know what type of setup, what ap what antenas i hope i make sense

Depends on what type of antennas you want to use. We don't know much about town but how many AP's are being deployed?

Are you providing the internet and infrastructure? If so what equipment are you using at the DMARC?

I wouldn't personally use MESH for a large number of users.  Every MESH node you go through halves the thorughput.  Also every problem that every upstream MESH node is having gets repeated to the MESH node you are on.

 

I would run an fixed line service service to every AP or group of APs.
