installing a module uplink to a C9300-M

hi,

can someone please tell me when is the best time to install the module uplink in a C9300-M.

before starting the switch ? after the switch connect to the dashboard ?

It doesn't matter, both will work.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

As per the installation guide, the modules are hot swappable.

"Note: The C9300/X uplink modules are hot-swappable and can be inserted/removed while powered."

Therefore, you can install it any time.

That said, if you have it before booting up and installing the switch, I suggest inserting it beforehand.

You can even pre-configure the module ports by using the new C9300-NM-DEFAULT/1 - 8 ports.
The config on these ports will be copied to the actual ports of the module you install.  Great stuff!
