I was already waiting for Port Profiles to work with networks on Configuration Templates.
Then they renamed it to SmartPorts, and they also weren't supported on Configuration Templated Networks.
The documentation says "SmartPorts are currently not supported in Configuration Templates or networks bound to them". I'm hoping that the "currently" is deliberate, and there's plans to make it available.
